Hambone to the DL, Boggs moved to the active roster. Some time will be needed it seems before it can be determined if Hambone has a hernia that will require surgery that would leave him out 2 months.

This offense could be in for a precipitous slide or this could be a blessing in disguise. If you option Davis to AAA and move Blalock to 1B, you have addition by subtraction; I think the lineup can only take one of them at a time. Get Murphy and Byrd into the lineup as starters and stick Jones at the DH. Rotate Byrd, D-Murph, Jones, and Boggs between the OF and DH when necessary. That lineup suddenly has some plate discipline forcing you to put away your "hacktastic" Tees and fridge magnets.
