Ben Badler on Age Fraud

BA's Badler posted an article yesterday about a Cleveland prospect who signed last year recently charged with visa fraud. In general, the article suggests that a player who has been charged by MLB with age/identity fraud can still pitch in the DSL while the suspension proper is a 1 year ban on US entry.

This bolsters my argument that Miggie de los Santos and Jairo Valdez are technially suspended though still playing and will not be permitted to enter the US until 2010.

When will TX officials confirm the statues of our 08-09 age-gate players? Not sure, but last year 2007 signee Wilson Suero (550K) had his contract voided for visa fraud before someone confirmed this 1 year later in August 2008.
