I know there has been a lot of hoopla surrounding the near no-no that Ryan Tatusko had last night for the Blaze, eventually finishing up with a 1 hitter in 8.1 but there actually really was a no-hitter in our system last night. Three pitchers threw a combined no-hitter for the DSL2 club yesterday with 24yo Luis Polanco going 7 with 1BB and 8SO. Given his age, I would not regard him as much of a prospect but I don't have any info on him to speak of.
Over on the DSL1 side, rookie Australian Aaron Thompson, threw a 1-hitter in 5 innings. He has had some success since his cold-water immersion into Dominican life back in May and looks like a better prospect than his countrymen Mark Stanford(on the DSL2 squad).
Do check out Ryan Tatusko's post-game play-by-play of his near no-no over at the Newberg site.
