Minor Moves, Major Notes

Texas
Jason Churchill over at Prospect Insider:
"PI has learned Wednesday that the clubs scouting Cliff Lee at Yankees Stadium Tuesday were the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees themselves."

I'm excited to watch Omar Beltre pitch tonight. When he is on, he sits 90-94 and commands the bottom of the zone well. However, don't expect him to go more than 5innings or 80pitches. His longest outing of the season has been a 6 inning/81pitch outing on June 2. His other 4 longest outings: 6/22, 3.2ip/52p; 5/28, 3ip/54p; 6/19, 3ip/61p; 6/24, 5ip/56p. If you were a betting man, you'd say he might not get past 60 pitches. Let's hope that is 60 over 5 and not 60 over 3.

OKC
According to the OKC paper, Scheppers will skip his next start to get some rest before his pitch limit is raised to 5ip or 75pitches. He got a similar break before he was bumped up to 4ip/60pitches.

In BA's latest power index for AAA players, June 1-28 (min 70pa/19ip), 2 Redhawks make an appearance: Chad Tracy 13th in ISOP% at .302; Michael Kirkman 7th in SO% at 24%.

AA
UPDATE: Scott Lucas is reporting that Michael Main has been promoted to Frisco from Bak. Hopefully the balls won't start flying out of the stadium at an even higher rate! Prolly takes Tatusko's spot.

UPDATE: Some Late Roster moves per Jason Cole: Marcus Lemon to the DL; Emerson Frostad activated. James Tomlin to the DL, Endy Chavez activated from rehab stint in AZL. I pray that Chavez replaces Arias on the Texas 25. Chavez has an opt out date of 7/1 in his minor league contract should he choose to exercise it. He might take another week of at bats in AAA to try to shake the rust off if TX promised him a spot on the 25.

Hickory
Leury Garcia to the DL; Guillermo Pimentel promoted from Spokane. Braden Tullis to the rotation. I guess Brigham goes to the pen to work on his mechanical issues. Or maybe NeRa. Keeping Trevor Hurley in the bullpen is a waste.

Draft
Jim Callis liked Jr OF Josh Richmond (TX, 12th round) enough to take him 10th in his shadow draft. He says that he could have gone as early as the third round if not for a chronic injury to his left hand that shelved him much of the season. Hope TX makes him a tempting offer.
